Your Craigslist Classifieds Authority Site

Criagslist is FREE

If you think you can get the same price on Craiglist for an item as you would selling it on Ebay, you should go with Craigslist. Selling on Ebay is not free and not cheap if you are selling a high ticket item. Craigslist is.

Worried about security?

If you are worried about selling on Craiglist and you want to be absolutely sure you don't get scammed, Ebay may be the way to go because you can examine the feedback rating of any buyer and see what people have said about that person in past transactions. Though I provided a good deal of information about Craigslist scammers in this book, you still may be apprehensive and if you are, Ebay may provide you more security. I will trust pretty much any buyer or seller on Ebay with over 50 feedbacks and at least a 98% feedback rating or above..

Mastering Selling on Ebay

If you want to become a master Ebay seller as well as a Craiglslist master (and you should), there are a mountain of resources on how to do that.

Here's a very comprehensive course on the subject from the Internet Marketing Center:
http://www.auctiontips.com/course.html

Buying on Ebay

I do very little buying on Ebay with reagards to reselling. I find a Ebay is a sellers market at this time. You can usually find better deals on Craigslist with the benefit of not having to pay the shipping. I think it also depends what commodities you are dealing in and how the market is doing at that point in time for the items you are interested in. So don't rule out Ebay for buying. There are still thousands of good deals on Ebay if you can find them.

Get Market Values

Not sure how much to charge for an item, or what a fair price to buy an item is? Because so much buying and selling takes place on Ebay, it is great for finding the market values for certain items. You can usually get a ballpark idea how much an item is worth and base your buying and selling decisions on it. To find the market value of an item you simply do a search for an item that you are interested in remembering to check the “Completed Listings” box, which is available in the “Advanced Search” settings. (see pic below) Then check the results only taking into consideration the auctions where the item was actually sold.

By checking “Completed Auctions” you see what the item has SOLD for not what the item is currently bid up to in the ongoing auctions. Not checking this box will give you a false idea of the value of the item, because you will only get ongoing auctions in your search results, and won't be able to see the final selling price of the item.

Use Ebay smartly in conjunction with Craigslist to increase your profits. Become a master of both and there will be little you can't do to make money online!
